Lastingham to Hutton le Hole

Spent today in Lastingham on our way to Whitby Folk Week. Staying at the Blacksmiths pub with friends. Great food and good beer, fourposter bed as well.

Had to wait for rain to stop this morning - sat in pub for a while and then went in local church to look at Norman Crypt.

Eventually it stopped and we set off on our walk to Hutton le Hole. Took a couple of hours, map here at Runkeeper.

Had lunch, walked round village, bought chocolate in The Chocolate Factory:

Had drink in Crown, and did short walk back. Saw loads of baby pheasants in fields, presumably gamekeepers rearing them for start of shooting season in October.

Walk back took us along edge of moors with lots of purple heather.

Return walk here.
